Clinical Approach
I have extensive knowledge of family and relationship dynamics, treating adult survivors of abuse, depression and anxiety, addictions, and pain management. I incorporate multiple theories based on what is best suited for each individual. My main focus is client centered therapy. Psychodynamic therapy is beneficial at some point during the therapeutic relationship. I use cognitive behavioral techniques when appropriate for anxiety and depression. When working with couples, my goal is to facilitate communication while addressing areas of conflict as well as each partner's relationship needs. I utilize multiple theoretical structures and take a wholistic approach to be able to have an understanding of each individual's unique needs. I provide validation and guidance toward a shift in either perspective or behavior. This process involves identifying perceptual, emotional, and spiritual barriers to nurture one's inner resources.
